Who we are

Hey Hello, we are Melanie and Joost and have two children Max and Fleur. If you have lost us, we are on the water, because we love sailing. We met at Orionis the Amsterdam student sailing club, where I organized the competition, and Joost won the competition.

Together with my husband I like to go out with camper "Goofy".

Joost is a sustainability consultant and furniture designer. I, am the business brain and a Mac enthusiast. As an online product owner I take care of the online part of Babywoods.

Started in 2017

During my maternity leave, the first models of wall commodes were made and marketed. I myself had pelvic instability and I could not walk stairs. Joost then thought of making a changing place downstairs in the toilet. at my height, so very ergonomic. This is how the first Babywoods WallCommode was born.

Especially because the maternity care and midwife were so surprised by the smart solution.

And in love with the beautiful design. That led me to sell our first model. This was the start of our company Babywoods.
